My Journey
First Lessons
Took guitar lessons for about 6 months and picked up the basics — then set the guitar aside for many years.
Roslindale Porchfest
My friend and former co-worker Brian Horwitz invited me to join him on a few songs at my house during Porchfest. That spark rekindled everything.
Porchfest, Round Two
Brian came back to Roslindale Porchfest and this time I played 5–6 songs. Started looking for other ways to play with people.
Playing Through the Pandemic
Playing guitar at home became my way to stay sane during Covid. Attempted a neighborhood band through Facebook that fizzled when the world shut down.
Jam Sessions at The Record Co.
Joined a session at The Record Co. in Boston and played a few songs, but the group was unreliable and I eventually moved on.
School Music Night & Band Gig
Played a surprise song with other parents at my daughter's school music night. Shortly after, joined Band Gig in Dedham — lessons plus a "Join a Band" program — starting in September 2025.
Four on the Floor
Performed individual songs with a group in December 2025 and March 2026, then performed a full 6-song "gig" in March 2026 with my band group Four on the Floor. Continuing in a new Band Gig session through June 2026.
